The main character in the book " The Boy Project " is Kara MeAllister . She is not that well known girl in school . She has a crush . But he doesn't know it and she has her best friends putting love letters in his locker and everything and the popular girl of the school finds out and she wants to make her jealous . Her friends know that the guy will think the popular girl does really like him , but she doesn't she's just trying to make Kara jealous . Kara gets butterflies every time she talks to him . That makes her chance of getting with him lower . Her friends try to tell her to let her heart talk and they don't know how hard it is for her . Her friends don't like how the other people treat them because there not as " popular " are everyone else . They don't want to ruin her chances with him , but they also don't like how they are treating her for having a crush on one of the popular guys . I like this book because it shows you no matter what you do someone's still going to judge you , but she still didn't let anyone put her down . The author made the theme really clear . He didn't say it but he trying to teach us , never let anyone take away your joy . Everyone grows up into something they wanted or didn't want to be .
I would describe Kara as a sweet person that someone would take for granted because of how sweet she is . She is also shy because in the middle of the book she had a chance to talk to the guy but she let her feeling get the best of her and she didn't say anything . She just froze .
